日本政府が防衛力を抜本的に強化する一環として沿岸防衛のためイスラエル製の小型攻撃用ドローンを入札する可能性があるという新聞記事を読んで、限界だなと思った。既に性能（＝殺傷能力）が実証されておりアピール材料には事欠かないからだが、6月の衆院経済産業委員会における辰巳孝太郎氏（共産）の「ガザで使用されている兵器を製造する企業を入札から排除する」求めに対し、本田太郎防衛副大臣は「特定の国の装備品の取得を予断することなく、日本の防衛に必要な装備品を適正に取得する」と答えるにとどめたという。新聞の見出しは”ガザで大量殺人を続けるイスラエルのドローンが日本の購入対象に…年内に導入すれば「虐殺に加担」の恐れ”とあり、この書き方も弱いと感じた。加担の恐れ、ではなくどう見ても加担でしかないからだ。これまでもこれからも私はこの国の人々を好きになることはないし、死ぬまで日本人であることを心から恥に思うだろう。
I read a newspaper article about the possibility of the Japanese government bidding for Israeli-made small attack drones for coastal defense as part of a fundamental defense strengthening effort, and it feels like I’ve had enough. The drones’ lethality has already been proven; that’s why they’re considering buying them. However, in June, Communist Party lawmaker Kotaro Tatsumi called for Japan to “exclude companies manufacturing weapons used in Gaza from bidding,” and Deputy Defense Minister Taro Honda responded only by saying that Japan would “appropriately acquire equipment necessary for Japan’s defense without prejudging the acquisition of equipment from any particular country.” The newspaper headline read, “Israeli drones, which continue to commit mass murder in Gaza, are now eligible for purchase in Japan…Fear of ‘commitment to genocide’ if introduced within the year.” I felt this was a weak statement. It’s not a fear of complicity, but rather complicity. I have never liked the people of this country, and I will never like them again, and I will be deeply ashamed to be Japanese until the day I die.
